Overview
As Communications Director, I led messaging and creative direction across internal and external channels, shaping how the organization communicated during both everyday operations and moments of change.

The organization was navigating both a major building expansion and the uncertainty of COVID-19 — moments where unclear or reactive communication could quickly erode trust. Messaging needed to steady the community, not amplify noise.

I wrote and managed weekly email communications, led social content and copy, and developed promotional messaging for events and initiatives. I worked closely with leadership to shape language used from the platform, in videos, and across digital channels — often advising on not just what to say, but how and when to say it.

I treated tone and timing as strategic tools. During sensitive moments, particularly COVID-related updates, I prioritized accuracy, consistency, and good judgment, ensuring information was useful without becoming reactive or polarizing.

Communication settled into a steadier, more recognizable rhythm. Messages were clearer, expectations were better aligned, and feedback reflected increased confidence in how information was shared — especially during uncertain moments.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Oversaw a team of content creators, shaping the organization’s Instagram presence to align with brand messaging and tone.
Vision Sunday: Annual Report
Directed the creation of the Annual Business Report, shaping branding and messaging while synthesizing data into an accessible, meaningful overview.
VIDEO SERIES
Developed a series of testimonies designed to encourage and support viewers through shared stories.
EMAIL SAMPLES
Weekly emails designed in close collaboration with leadership, with primary responsibility for drafting and tone.
COVID-19 COMMUNICATIONS
The pandemic presented unique and demanding communication needs. From figuring out how to engage our community online, to navigating a re-opening in a new building, we had to be strategic and deeply intentional in our approach.
